- I've had one for about 6 months, and regularly get 4800 cps (i.e.
- roughly equivalent to 48.0 kbps) out of it using SLIP to dial my ISP (Demon
- Internet in the UK). The modem compression works very well, and it copes with
- reasonably noisy lines.

- The only problem I've had with it is with the external power supply, which has
- been replaced twice free of charge after I managed to prove to a sceptical
- help desk staffer that it was the cause of the noise on the speaker and the
- problems dialling. I had two modems, and when I swapped the power supply
- between them, the symptoms moved as well.
